Preparation of Chinese New Year festival 2018 started

The Hague has started preparing the celebration of the Chinese New Year in 2018. This is celebrated on Saturday, February 17, a day after the official beginning of the Year of the Dog according to the Chinese Zodiac.
The New Year is celebrated exuberantly in Chinatown and in the city hall of The Hague, including a dragon and lion parade and fireworks on the Spuiplein, and performances by artists from China and the Netherlands on a big stage in the Atrium of the City Hall. The national celebration in the town hall is attended by dozens of high-ranking guests from the administrative and political world in The Hague and hundreds of visitors from all over the country. The festival is freely accessible to the public.
As in previous years, the organization of the national celebration is in the hands of the Foundation Chinese Cultural Events Netherlands, in close cooperation with local and national Chinese associations in the Netherlands, the municipality of The Hague and the Association Netherlands-China (VNC). This year the organization is led by Mr. Chi Tseng Pin, chairman of the National Federation of Chinese Organizations in the Netherlands.
There is a provisional program that will be completed in the coming weeks. Information about this will be published on this website.
